Rob Heverling
Mission Center President/Financial Officer
Community of Christ Seventy, Husband, Dad, and Granddad are among the most important titles Rob Heverling has. He added another important title: Midlands Mission Center President and Financial Officer.
Rob is passionate about the Community of Christ and its mission.
​
There are so many gifted and compassionate people in the Midlands MC Rob loves being around and working with.
Rob hopes to inspire unchurched people in the Midlands MC to find meaning in our church and start a faith journey with us.
In our hyper connected, over scheduled lives Rob believes people will only commit their valuable time to what is most meaningful and we must constantly adapt to make our faith movement more meaningful.
Rob's professional experience includes 33 years of newsroom leadership at different network affiliates (ABC, NBC, CBS) around the United States.
He has also been a fulltime pastor at Council Bluffs Central Community of Christ.
Rob and his wife Laura have directed multiple youth camps and retreats, taught classes and been involved in countless worship experiences.
They have two adult children; each married to remarkable individuals, and so far, five grandchildren all living in the Kansas City metro. Rob says it's been wonderful to be more present in their family's lives.
Rob is also passionate about their standard poodle, Arsenal Football Club, the Buffalo Bills (don't hold this against him Chiefs fans) and eating good food.

Jessica Pycior
Peace and Justice Specialist
Jessica Pycior, a Peace and Justice Specialist with Midlands Mission Center.
Jessica is currently pursuing a MA in Peace and Social Transformation with Community of Christ Seminary. Jessica holds a PhD in Poetry, MFA in Creative Writing, BA in English with a minor in Church Leadership from Graceland University and an Associate's degree in Child Development with a focus on Trauma Advocacy and Behavior Intervention.
She is certified and experienced in trauma-informed care, intervention and training. She is a focused relationship builder skilled in empathy and inclusion. Jessica is passionate about restorative justice, advocacy, peace building, community development, animal rescue, gardening, reading, and writing.

Missy Shields
Bookkeeper and Recorder
Missy Shields, bi-vocational minister with Community of Christ, is the bookkeeper and recorder for the Midlands Mission Center.
​
Missy is the Pastor of Record at the Highlands congregation and has served on the board for Central Avenue Center of Hope since 2012. She holds the priesthood office of Elder.
​
Missy and her husband Dennis live in Kansas City, MO and she enjoys traveling, watching sports, crocheting and helping out wherever she can.
She works as a Senior Accountant for a local public school district. She received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from Missouri Western University and has taken several Center for Innovation in Ministry and Mission classes.

Stan Troeh
Mission Center President Team
Stan Troeh, a bi-vocational minister with Community of Christ, is a member of the Midlands Mission Center President team in the Central USA Mission Field.
He was born in Idaho, started walking in California, and went through school in New York, Iowa and Uruguay. He has been actively engaged in congregational life throughout his life, and in mission center leadership for nearly 20 years. With passions for worship, peace and justice, education, and inclusiveness, he and his wife, Grace, have taught many Temple School courses, particularly for priesthood education, and shared in ministry throughout our mission center. He holds the office of High Priest.
Stan and Grace live in Kansas City, Kansas. They enjoy time with family (especially the new grandparent role), ministry, travel, and camping.

Emily Hidy
Mission Center Financial Officer Team
Emily Hidy, a self-sustaining minister for Community of Christ, is on the Mission Center Financial Officer Team for Midlands Mission Center in the Central USA Mission Field.
Emily received a BA in Mathematics from Graceland University, and taught high school math for six years before becoming a stay-at-home mom. She spent time as a co-congregation financial officer and holds the priesthood office of Elder.
Emily and her husband, Craig, raise their three boys in Topeka, KS. They enjoy vacationing in Colorado, camping in their popup, and outdoor activities like biking and hiking.

Dawn & Greg Bassett
Mission Center Youth & Young Adult Ministers
Dawn and Greg Bassett, bi-vocational ministers with the Community of Christ and attend the Highlands Congregation.
They have been actively engaged in youth ministry for more than 30 years as congregational youth leaders, camp directors, pastors, Christian education leaders, and mission center youth and adult ministry. Dawn and Greg have a great passion for youth and young adult ministry and seek to support their spiritual journeys as they become disciples of Christ.
They also have a great passion for Christian education, helping others deepen their faith and understanding in their personal relationships with God as they walk their life journey.
Dawn and Greg are married and are ministry partners. Dawn is a Graceland University Seminary graduate with her Master of Arts in Religion. Greg is currently working on the same degree. They each hold the office of Elder.
They have four young adult children, three dogs, and two cats. They enjoy spending time with family, being outdoors, traveling to beaches, and having adventures together.
